Thanks in large part to first baseman Jamie Martin, the Omaha Storm Chasers beat the Iowa Cubs, 9-2. Martin was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Omaha win streak is now 3 games.

Dave Jacoba had a big 3-run home run for the Storm Chasers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Omaha leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from fireballing right-hander Omar Zaragoza and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Storm Chasers on top, 5-1.
