Dodgers Drop 6-5 Decision
|
A good performance from first baseman Jose Montanez helped the Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeat the Oklahoma City Dodgers, 6-5. Montanez was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Sky Sox. Sean Dale, the winner, improved to 8-3. He held the Dodgers to 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Mike Miller stitched up the save, his 2nd.
Jacob Huckaby had a big 3-run home run for the Sky Sox in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Colorado Springs leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Rich Kraus and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sky Sox ahead, 4-0.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Montanez told the Colorado Springs Gazette.
With the victory, the Sky Sox upped their record to 42-36.
