Sacramento Claims 3-1 Victory
|
The Fresno Grizzlies got a superb performance from pitcher Jose Guerra, but the Sacramento River Cats still won the game, 3-1. Guerra threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Sacramento reliever Jeremy Craven snagged the win, upping his record to 1-6. Dan Cassidy shouldered the loss. Brandon Banks closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Sacramento needed the clutch hitting of Chris Cramer to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Cats on top, 2-1. For the game, Cramer had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Cramer.
The first-place River Cats now have a record of 40-43.
