Sacramento Carves Out 4-2 Win
|
The Reno Aces got a superb performance from pitcher Bubba Schmitz, but the Sacramento River Cats still won the game, 4-2. Schmitz threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Jason Cranford picked up the save for Sacramento, his 16th of the year. At 48-35, the River Cats find themselves in first place in the Pacific Conference North Division.
Sacramento went in front, 4-2, on Terry Korf's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Korf hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Reno pitcher Elard Spierenburg visibly perturbed.
"Good win for us," said Korf. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
