The Sacramento River Cats knocked off the Reno Aces, 3-0, in Pacific Conference action at Raley Field. Sacramento pitcher and Manteca, California, native Rod Strader had an outstanding performance. The River Cats improved their record to 50-34 by beating Reno.
Strader allowed no runs on 5 hits over 8 innings for Sacramento. With the win, the southpaw is 6-6 with an ERA of 4.64.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Jose Heredia. "That was the problem."
