River Cats Absorb 5-1 Loss at Aces Ballpark
|
The Reno Aces beat the Sacramento River Cats, 5-1, at Aces Ballpark. Starting pitcher Inayat Ullah Clark was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Clark, now 2-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Reno is second in the Pacific Conference North Division with a record of 37-49.
The Aces got a big at-bat from third baseman Mike Cook. For the game, Cook was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave Reno a 2-0 lead.
Aces manager Jose Heredia raved about Clark after the game. "I thought Inayat Ullah was 'lights out.'"
