Storm Chasers Outdo Zephyrs in Extra Innings
It took 10 innings, but the Omaha Storm Chasers were able to beat the New Orleans Zephyrs, 7-4, at Zephyr Field. Brian Pyle provided some offensive muscle for Omaha. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Storm Chasers improved to 44-42.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Melvin Pereira came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing New Orleans pitcher Craig Abling, he hit a 0-2 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Omaha on top, 5-4.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Pyle.
