Sacramento third baseman Michael Earnest played a vital role in his team's 6-3 conquest of Tacoma. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Sacramento. Sacramento is now 44-45, Tacoma 47-42.

Earnest had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 0-2 fastball from Alex Gutierrez, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the River Cats a 3-2 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for Earnest.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Earnest told the Sacramento Times, "and we played pretty well tonight."
