The Albuquerque Isotopes knocked off the Salt Lake Bees, 2-0, in Pacific Conference action at Smith's Ballpark. Albuquerque pitcher and Milton-Freewater, Oregon, native Mike Nall had an outstanding performance. The winner was Nall. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Joey Renner. Danny Youngblood, who is tied for 2nd in the PC in saves with 12, earned the save for Albuquerque.
Juan Hernandez had a big run-scoring double for the Isotopes in the top of the sixth inning. With Albuquerque leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Joey Renner and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 2-0.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Nall. "I was right where I wanted to be."
The first-place Isotopes, at 51-39, lead the Pacific Conference South Division by 2 games.
