Isotopes Reel Off Another Win, 4-3
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes picked up a win at Smith's Ballpark, knocking off the Salt Lake Bees, 4-3. Starting pitcher Daniel Gradilla was a big reason why. Gradilla, now 10-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The first-place Isotopes, at 64-26, lead the Pacific Conference South Division by 20½ games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Andy Rossi? The 29-year old center fielder Rossi stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Albuquerque up, 4-0. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Rossi. "The only team that can beat us is us."
