Despite a fine performance by center fielder Jim Paquet, the Reno Aces lost to the Albuquerque Isotopes, 11-9. Paquet went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The second-place Isotopes sport a record of 47-45.

The Aces had been locked in a 9-9 tie with the Isotopes going into the top of the tenth inning. That changed quickly when the 31-year old left fielder Andres Fernandez came to the plate. Fernandez hit a run-scoring triple on a 2-1 fastball from Reno hurler Adam Redel. It was Fernandez's 9th triple of the year.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Fernandez. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
