Fading Clippers Lose 6th Straight
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Indianapolis Indians and Columbus Clippers.
The Indianapolis Indians topped the Columbus Clippers, 4-0, in International League action at Huntington Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Indianapolis pitcher Steve Deppe. With the win, Indianapolis lifts its record to 8-3.
Andrew Rising came through with a big-time hit for Indianapolis. The designated hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We've hit a lull," said Columbus manager Dan Goldthwaite.
