Storm Chasers Suffer 5-4 Home Defeat
The New Orleans Zephyrs knocked off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-4, in American Conference action at Werner Park. New Orleans pitcher and Decatur, Alabama, native Matt Grimes had an outstanding performance. Grimes, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Erik Nasuti collected his 4th save.

New Orleans used a well-timed hit by Silvério Lorme to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Zephyrs ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Lorme. "More importantly, I had a good game."

With the win, New Orleans upped its record to 51-43.
