River Cats Stick Isotopes with 4-1 Loss
|
The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes, 4-1, in Pacific Conference action at Raley Field. Sacramento pitcher Steve Powers had a standout performance. Powers got the win, improving to 9-8. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Powers allowed 1 run. Nick Webb got the save, his 12th in 14 chances.
Making an impact for the home team was Sergio Almanza. In the bottom of the sixth, the 25-year old left fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, River Cats.
"We take it day by day here," said Powers, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, Sacramento goes to 54-40, while the Isotopes fall to 55-39.
