The Sacramento River Cats pasted the El Paso Chihuahuas with a convincing 12-0 defeat at Raley Field. Terry Korf was a prime factor in the Sacramento win. He was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Justin Paglione got the win, improving to 10-6. He held the Chihuahuas to no runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Sacramento, at 55-40, holds down first place in the Pacific Conference North Division.

In the bottom of the second, 26-year old center fielder Jose Castillo hit a 2-run double. The 13th double of the season for the Sacramento center fielder put the River Cats on top, 2-0.

"We got plowed under," said losing manager Matt Pace. "Period. Full stop."
