River Cats Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
In a tension-filled contest between the Sacramento River Cats and the El Paso Chihuahuas, pitcher Eric Ervin was superb. The Sacramento right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the PC in innings pitched with 106.2, spearheaded his team's 1-0 win. Sacramento bumps their record to 56-40 with the win.

Sacramento catcher Ed Garza helped the River Cats go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Garza hit a run-scoring single off El Paso pitcher Tim King.

Ervin told the Sacramento Citizen: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
