River Cats Handle Isotopes, 7-2
|
Sacramento pitcher Kyle Zdun had a large part in his team subduing the Albuquerque Isotopes, 7-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The River Cats, at 46-51, sit in third place in the Pacific Conference North Division.
Nate Strother had a big grand slam home run for the River Cats in the bottom of the third inning. With Sacramento leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Dan Hofmann, who is tied for 3rd in the PC in complete games with 2, and punished it. The result was his 20th home run of the season, which put the River Cats on top, 5-0.
Zdun attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
