Dodgers Claim 4-1 Triumph
|
Colorado Springs got a terrific performance from pitcher Luke Deyo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Oklahoma City Dodgers. Oklahoma City won the Security Service Field contest, 4-1. Deyo threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Justin Walsh was the winner. He's now 3-3. The loser was Luke Deyo. Earning his 4th save of the year was Aaron Doyle.
Oklahoma City used the timely hitting of Julio Maldonado to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Maldonado told the Oklahoma City Daily.
The Dodgers win now puts them at 55-41.
