The Tacoma Rainiers and Round Rock Express obliged fans looking for a good time.

Jose Palomo, who is tied for 5th in the PC with a 9.0 K/9 rate, was locked in. The left-hander led the Tacoma Rainiers to a 6-5 win against the Round Rock Express at Cheney Stadium. Tacoma reliever David Benitez was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Glenn Roberson.

Had Brian Salvatierra not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Salvatierra hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Rainiers.

"Jose doing his thing just hyped us all up," said Tacoma manager John Conway.

The Rainiers improved to 51-48.
