River Cats Pin 5-1 Loss on Memphis
|
The Sacramento River Cats weathered a fine game by Memphis catcher Andrew Kuhlman to upend the Redbirds, 5-1, at Raley Field. Kuhlman went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Mike Billingsley notched his 3rd save in 3 chances. Sacramento has now won 3 straight, while the Redbirds have lost 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the fifth, Austin Clouser delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Sacramento right fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the River Cats in front, 5-1.
"We've got a great group of guys," Clouser said, "and we're having fun right now."
