Indians Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The Indianapolis Indians took Preston Brandenburg's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Victory Field. The final score had Indianapolis getting past the Knights, 3-2, in 10 innings. Brandenburg over 6 innings allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. Vince Alderete snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Early on, the Indians, at 10-2, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ryan Faulkner in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Roe to win the game for Indianapolis. The home crowd went nuts.
"This house was rockin'," Faulkner said.
