Zephyrs Win, 4-2, Versus Tacoma
|
The New Orleans Zephyrs got a strong performance from pitcher Erik Roth. Junior stymied the Tacoma offense en route to a solid, 4-2 win at Cheney Stadium. New Orleans pitcher Matt Grimes earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Geoff Gross suffered the loss. The second-place Zephyrs now sit at 57-46.
Jose Nuncio came through with a big-time hit for New Orleans. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
New Orleans manager Matt Sorenson called it "a pretty good win."
