Albuquerque and Round Rock played a hard-fought contest.

Albuquerque Isotopes starter Dan Poff turned in a sterling performance against the Round Rock Express, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. In 7 innings, Poff surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Jonathan Lopez picked up the save for Albuquerque, his 2nd of the year.

Albuquerque used the timely hitting of Mike Primeaux to capture the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Isotopes on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Both teams played hard," said Albuquerque manager Ryan Gangle.

The first-place Isotopes have won 5 in a row.
