The performance of Sam Jaynes proved critical in helping Sacramento beat New Orleans, 6-5, in 11 innings. The River Cats shortstop was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The first-place River Cats are now 61-44, the Zephyrs 52-53.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Sacramento catcher Joe Floyd, facing Jim Muma, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the River Cats the 6-5 win.
