El Paso catcher Grant Kern was instrumental in helping the Chihuahuas triumph, 9-6, over the Round Rock Express. Kern went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Donovan Harding earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The Pacific Conference South Division-leading Chihuahuas have a record of 73-32.

El Paso used the timely hitting of Kenny Keith to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Kern.
