Strong Propels Zephyrs to 5-1 Win
|
Jason Strong was a vital contributor to the 5-1 New Orleans victory over Salt Lake. The Zephyrs shortstop went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Adam Jones picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-8. He struck out 6 in 9 innings. The third-place Zephyrs are now 47-58, the Bees 49-56.
New Orleans took a 3-1 lead on Strong's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Vic Correa in the bottom of the sixth, propelled New Orleans to the win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Strong.
