The Round Rock Express defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 6-2, at Dell Diamond. Round Rock left fielder Jason Kaiser had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Adam Muniz was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 9 strikeouts. Keith Strickland earned the save for Round Rock, his 4th.
The Express got a big at-bat from center fielder Todd Peters. For the game, Peters was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Round Rock a 3-2 lead.
"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Peters told the Round Rock Bulletin.
The Express go to 43-60, putting them third in the American Conference South Division.
