River Cats Pick Up 3-1 Win
|
Colorado Springs got a decent performance from pitcher Adam Gish, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sacramento River Cats. Sacramento won the Security Service Field contest, 3-1. Gish threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. With the win, the River Cats have a record of 44-62.
Mike Mathews had a direct impact on the outcome. Mathews contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Sacramento up, 3-1.
In comments to the Sacramento News, Mathews insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
