The El Paso Chihuahuas did just enough to sneak past the New Orleans Zephyrs, 4-3, at Zephyr Field. El Paso pitcher Eric Owens, in particular, had a standout performance. El Paso is 52-55 and New Orleans, with the loss, 53-54.
Luis Guzman came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Guzman said his team "played with focus."
