Zephyrs Cut Down Aces, 9-5
Kyle Knox was a vital contributor to the 9-5 New Orleans victory over Reno. The Zephyrs third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. New Orleans starter Eddie Martinez was credited with the win after throwing 121 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 8-8. By defeating Reno, the third-place Zephyrs improved to 48-56.

New Orleans used a well-timed hit by John Ballard to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Zephyrs ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Knox.
