Rainiers Drop 6-3 Decision
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox picked up a win at Security Service Field, taking down the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-3. Starting pitcher Tommy Waterbury was a big reason why. Waterbury got the win, improving to 9-4. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Colorado Springs is in second place in the American Conference North Division with a record of 58-48.
The Sky Sox got a big at-bat from center fielder Joey Puente. For the game, Puente went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Colorado Springs a 3-2 lead.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Waterbury.
