Nashville Dispatched, 5-2, by Sacramento
|
The Sacramento River Cats reigned over the Nashville Sounds in damp conditions.
The Sacramento River Cats topped the Nashville Sounds, 5-2, in Pacific Conference action at Raley Field. The standout performance belonged to Sacramento pitcher and Las Vegas, Nevada, native Kyle Zdun. Justin Gage finished to wrap up his 8th save.
Jeff Stelma had a big solo home run for the River Cats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Sacramento leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Isaiah Jordan, who is tied for 2nd in the AC in complete games with 3, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the River Cats on top, 3-1.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Nashville manager Mauricio Soto. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Sacramento is now 56-56.
