The Reno Aces went down to defeat to Ivan Gonzales and his Colorado Springs teammates. The final score was 5-1, in favor of the Sky Sox. Bobby Pekala sewed up the save, his 10th. The Sky Sox, at 61-50, have now won 8 straight.
Nathan Risner had a big 2-run double for the Sky Sox in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Colorado Springs leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tyler Taylor and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sky Sox ahead, 3-0.
"I executed the game plan," said Gonzales.
