Sky Sox Rally Late to Nip Sounds

Sky Sox fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Nashville Sounds got a sterling performance from pitcher Danny Guerra, but the Colorado Springs Sky Sox still prevailed, 3-2. Guerra threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Josh Ruhe picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Bobby Rettig suffered the loss.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Colorado Springs trailing 2-1, Ricky Valdez delivered the decisive blow, stroking a sinker from Bobby Rettig for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
Said Valdez: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
Colorado Springs, at 56-57, occupies second place in the American Conference North Division.
