The Reno Aces picked up a win at Aces Ballpark, knocking off the New Orleans Zephyrs, 1-0. Starting pitcher Tyler Taylor was a big reason why. Reno is now 34-83, New Orleans 56-61.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Wally Haines came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New Orleans pitcher Ben Blackwood, he hit a 1-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Reno on top, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Taylor. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
