A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Salt Lake Bees and Sacramento River Cats.

Salt Lake starter Darius Frederick ran into little resistance from Sacramento hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 9-1. Frederick, now 6-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

In the bottom of the first inning, the Bees grabbed the lead when John Henderson rapped a two-out single. Salt Lake was trailing 1-0, when Henderson hit a 2-run single off Kyle Zdun to put his team in front, 2-1.

Said losing manager Damian Rivera: "Give the Bees credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."

The third-place Bees now have a win-loss record of 60-57.
