Oklahoma City Collects 5-2 Win
|
The Oklahoma City Dodgers topped the Fresno Grizzlies, 5-2, in American Conference action at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Oklahoma City pitcher and Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic, native Luis Ferreras. Ferreras yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-8. Picking up the save was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Craig Abling.
Oklahoma City went up, 4-2, on Steve Carbone's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Carbone hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fresno pitcher Dan Cassidy shaking his head.
"Even warm beer tastes good after a win," said Ferreras.
The second-place Dodgers now sit at 71-47.
