The Iowa Cubs topped the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-2, in American Conference action at Principal Park. The standout performance belonged to Iowa pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Edwin Galdamez. Jose Camacho got the save, his 9th in 10 chances. Iowa, at 63-56, occupies first place in the American Conference North Division.

Center Fielder T.J. Statham made an impact for Iowa, when he swatted a 2-run double off Mike Clark in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Statham was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
