Bubba Schmitz, who is tied for 10th in the PC in quality starts with 12, had a strong outing for the Reno Aces against the Salt Lake Bees at Smith's Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Schmitz picked up the win for Reno, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-11. Reno currently is in last place in the Pacific Conference North Division at 49-71.
John Hudson, the 17th overall pick in the 2097 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hudson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Reno up, 2-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hudson said after the game.
