Sounds Tack 2-1 Loss on Zephyrs
|
The Nashville Sounds went home winners at Zephyr Field, thanks in large part to starter Jimmy Burch. Burch stifled the New Orleans Zephyrs, enabling Nashville to grab the 2-1 win. Burch went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 12-9. The Sounds raised their record to 53-66.
Nashville used a timely hit from Steve Tocci to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sounds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Tocci said.
