With first baseman Sergio Mendez leading the charge, the Salt Lake Bees defeated the Reno Aces, 8-7, at Smith's Ballpark. Mendez was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Salt Lake bumps their record to 66-56 with the win.

With Salt Lake trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth, Mendez hit a 2-run single off Reno hurler Josh Calloway. It was the 85th hit of the season for Mendez and put his team ahead, 6-5.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Mendez told the Salt Lake Today.
