Poynter Leads Storm Chasers to 9-3 Win Over Dodgers
The Omaha Storm Chasers bested the Oklahoma City Dodgers, 9-3, at Werner Park. Trent Poynter was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Omaha starter Nate Wagner was credited with the win after throwing 113 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 9-5. Omaha is now 66-58, while Oklahoma City is 84-38.

The Storm Chasers got an important contribution from catcher Brian Shepherd, who in the bottom of the second punched a 1-2 sinker into left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Storm Chasers ahead, 4-0.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Shepherd told the Omaha Bulletin.
