Memphis pitcher Chris Rapley had a large part in his team subduing the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Rapley yielded 2 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-3. By defeating New Orleans, the first-place Redbirds improved to 70-54.

Memphis went up, 5-2, on John Tortora's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Tortora hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New Orleans pitcher Adam McCulley shaking his head.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Rapley told the Memphis Herald.
