Morgan Rothman was superb against El Paso. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the PC in wins with 11, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Grizzlies victory. The score was 5-2. In 6.2 innings, Rothman surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Fresno is 64-61 and El Paso, with the loss, 74-51.

Francisco Avila, who is tied for 9th in the PC in home runs with 18, came through for Fresno with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. The third baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.

"I got in a good groove," said Rothman. "I was getting some swings and misses."
