Chihuahuas Pick Up 2-1 Win Over Albuquerque
The El Paso Chihuahuas topped the Albuquerque Isotopes, 2-1, in Pacific Conference action at Isotopes Park. The standout performance belonged to El Paso pitcher and Cabimas, Venezuela, native Pablo Romero. Romero got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 2 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. Romero allowed no runs. The Chihuahuas' win now puts them at 74-51.

Jeremy Hammonds, the 24-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hammonds contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put El Paso up, 2-0.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Hammonds said.
