Red Sox Suffer 6-1 Loss to Gwinnett
|
Starting pitcher Matt Murphy did his part in helping the Gwinnett Braves thwart the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-1. The loss drops Pawtucket to 5-10.
The Red Sox had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Braves going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old third baseman Nate Miller came to the plate. Miller hit a bases-clearing double on a 1-1 changeup from Pawtucket hurler Mike Sherwood. It was Miller's 5th double of the year.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Gwinnett manager A.J. Godfrey.
