Aguayo Helps Grizzlies Beat River Cats, 8-6
Fresno defeated Sacramento, 8-6, in large part due to 27-year old center fielder Manny Aguayo. Aguayo drove in 5 runs. The right fielder had 1 double and 1 home run for the Grizzlies. Jim Grangroth, the winner, goes to 11-10. He allowed 6 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 11 strikeouts over 7.2 innings. The Grizzlies move to 56-70 with the win, while the River Cats drop to 68-58.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Grizzlies grabbed the lead when Aguayo hit his 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Gene Jones made it 7-4, Fresno.
