The Round Rock Express withstood an impressive performance by New Orleans designated hitter Darius Strange to defeat the Zephyrs, 5-4, at Zephyr Field. Strange was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Earning his 16th save for Round Rock was Mike DuFresne. Round Rock, now 73-56, has won 10 straight games.

Round Rock won the game in part because of Joe Perera. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Express ahead, 5-4. For the game, Perera had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said New Orleans manager Mark Williamson.
