Chiefs 9-4 Winners Versus Columbus
The Syracuse Chiefs defeated the Columbus Clippers, 9-4, at NBT Bank Stadium. Syracuse first baseman Seth Ghering had a superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The loss drops Columbus to 10-6.

Ghering contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Syracuse in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Ghering took a forkball from Jose Acosta and stroked the double to left-center. His 6th double of the season allowed the Chiefs to leap in front, 3-2.

Syracuse manager Phil Burkel commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
