Sacramento 2-1 Losers to Chihuahuas

Troy Anderson, who leads the PC with a 1.10 WHIP, pitched well, but the Sacramento River Cats still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the El Paso Chihuahuas at Southwest University park. Frank Scola picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-6. Troy Anderson, who is tied for 6th in the PC with a 3.56 ERA, was tagged with the loss. Travis LeBlanc closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Sherman Pompa took Sacramento hurler Troy Anderson deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Chihuahuas on top, 2-1. In all, Pompa had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"That's baseball," said Sacramento manager Brian Johnson. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
El Paso is now 65-67.
