Chihuahuas Turn Back Isotopes, 4-3
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes got a sterling performance from pitcher Dan Poff, but the El Paso Chihuahuas still prevailed, 4-3. Poff threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Hector Quinteros earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-3. Chris Pine earned the save for El Paso, his 5th.
Alfredo Sanchez came through with a big-time hit for El Paso. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Sanchez after the game.
The El Paso winning streak has reached 3 games.
