Rainiers Send Fresno Home with 4-3 Loss
|
The Tacoma Rainiers took Fresno pitcher Cory Monroe's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cheney Stadium. The final score had Tacoma getting past the Grizzlies, 4-3. Monroe went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 7. Tacoma, at 52-82, sits in last place in the Pacific Conference North Division.
Had Robby Horta not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Horta hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Rainiers.
"We took home the win," said Horta. "What's not to like?"
