Express Walk It Off for 73rd Win of Season
|
The Round Rock Express outlasted Rob Gutierrez and the Oklahoma City Dodgers, 8-7. Gutierrez was impressive in the loss. The Oklahoma City right fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Estêvão Ano, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Round Rock, at 73-61, sits in first place in the American Conference South Division.
Jonathan Staib was the walk-off hero for Round Rock. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Express left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Staib said.
